Awesome seminar at Fighting Chance Fitness yesterday! Master Roberto Traven! Chokes and sweeps, triangles and omoplattas! I'll write more details on that in another post, just wanted to share my weird thought from the seminar. Normal thoughts later...
As we were lining up, with everyone checking out everyone else's belt (because there was a good mix of people from different gyms, so nobody knew everyone and their belt color/stripe level), it occurred to me that this might be one primal reason why we love BJJ so much. We know our pecking order, as it were. We don't have to have wild bonobo monkey orgies or bare our teeth and growl to figure out who is where in our hierarchy - we just compare belts, and there it is. Everyone knows their place. I'm not 100% sure what that place means, but hopefully I'll know by the time I get a place that isn't at the bottom of the totem pole!
Oh, and in case you were wondering, Rosemary started crawling with purpose, which has taken some adjustment in my daily routine, which pushed blogging to the back burner. I think we've got it all figured out now, so I should be back to regular posting. :)
